MANASSAS, Va. – Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative is sponsoring three high school students to participate in the 2024 National Rural Electric Cooperative Association Youth Tour in Washington.

NOVEC’s 2024 delegates are:

  • Angela Goh, a sophomore at Battlefield High School in Haymarket
  • Maddie Doefler, a junior at Battlefield High School in Haymarket
  • Vaibhav Dwaraka, a sophomore at Academies of Loudoun, a magnet school affiliated with John Champe High School in Aldie. (Academies of Loudoun is a magnet school for Loudoun County Public School students interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Students split their time between the Academies of Loudoun and their home schools.)

NOVEC area students interested in representing the Co-op at Youth Tour were required to complete an application and submit references. These students – along with nearly 1,800 other boys and girls from across the nation – will spend a week in June learning about electric cooperatives, visiting historic sites and museums, and seeing the federal government in action.
