You cannot delete parent subsites, as shown below.
Delete any lower-level subsites, then return to remove this subsite.
CommonSpot warns when the subsite contains content:
Optionally click View pages/Documents/Registered URLs.
Click Delete Subsite to proceed with the deletion or Cancel to exit without deleting.
